Connecticut exam registration

Examinees

To learn more about exam registration, authorization, and results, please select your exam from the choices below.

Fundamentals exams

The following information applies to all FE and FS applicants.

Eligibility

The Connecticut board does not require examinees to submit an application or an additional fee prior to registering with NCEES and scheduling an exam.

Examinees will be provided one attempt per testing window and no more than three attempts in a 12-month approval period, beginning with the examinee’s first attempt. Examinees who require more than three attempts or allow their 12-month approval period to expire must contact the board directly to obtain additional approvals.

Results

Exam results for the computer-based FE and FS exams are typically available within 7–10 business days. Examinees will receive an email notification from NCEES with instructions to view their results in their MyNCEES account. Results will include a link to your licensing board for additional state-specific information or instructions as appropriate.

All results are reported as pass or fail. If you fail the examination, you will receive a diagnostic report showing your performance for each of the major topics covered on the exam.

Cancellations and refunds

Refer to the section on computer-based exams in the NCEES Examinee Guide for information about cancellations, refunds, and rescheduling.

Professional exams

The following information applies to PE, PS, and SE examinees.

How do I register?

Examinees must follow these steps:

  1. All first-time applicants must submit an application directly to the Connecticut board for eligibility determination. Applications must be received by the board’s application deadline, which can be found on the board’s website or on the PCS website. After you have received approval from the board, you may continue to the next step.
  2. Each time you plan to sit for an exam, you must register with NCEES. After creating an account and receiving a confirmation email, log into your MyNCEES account to register for an exam. Registration is possible only during NCEES registration windows. Select your exam discipline/module and location during NCEES registration. Your exam discipline/module and location can be changed until NCEES registration closes (deadline: February 20, 2014 for the April 2014 exams). No exceptions can be made after the registration deadline.
  3. Within two business days of registering with NCEES, applicants will receive an email from PCS with a link to schedule and pay for an exam. If you do not see the email in your Inbox, please check your spam or junk folder before emailing your PCS coordinator (cteng@pcshq.com) for the scheduling link. Exams must be scheduled and paid for by the scheduling deadline. If you are unable to schedule and pay for an exam online, you may schedule by phone (877-364-3926) to pay with Discover, Visa, or MasterCard only.

Exam type, discipline, module, and/or site cannot be changed after the NCEES registration deadline. PCS cannot make any exceptions. Visit the PCS website for more information.

Exam authorization

NCEES will email you 2–3 weeks before the exam with a link to download and print your exam authorization notice. Read it carefully. You will be required to present this document along with a valid, government-issued photo ID upon arrival at the exam site. Your exam authorization notice will include the exam location, start time, seat assignment, and any parking information.

Results

When results have been released (typically 8–10 weeks after the exam) and validated, NCEES will send an email informing you that your result can be accessed through your MyNCEES account. PCS will notify you via the U.S. postal service of any state-specific exam results.

All results are reported as pass or fail. If you fail the examination, you will receive a diagnostic report showing your performance for each of the major topics covered on the exam.
