Delaware engineering exam registration

Examinees

To learn more about exam registration, authorization, and results, please select your exam from the choices below.

Fundamentals exams

The following information applies to all FE applicants.

Eligibility

The Delaware engineering board does not require examinees to submit an application or an additional fee prior to registering with NCEES and scheduling an exam as long as the education information provided during the registration process meets the board’s requirements. Examinees who are categorized as “pending approval” in their My NCEES account for more than 24 hours should contact their state board for further instructions.

Examinees will be provided one attempt per testing window and no more than three attempts in a 12-month approval period, beginning with the examinee’s first attempt. Examinees who require more than three attempts or allow their 12-month approval period to expire must contact the board directly to obtain additional approvals.

Results

Exam results for the computer-based FE exams are typically available within 7–10 business days. Examinees will receive an email notification from NCEES with instructions to view their results in their MyNCEES account. Results will include a link to your licensing board for additional state-specific information or instructions as appropriate.

All results are reported as pass or fail. If you fail the examination, you will receive a diagnostic report showing your performance for each of the major topics covered on the exam.

Cancellations and refunds

Refer to the section on computer-based exams in the NCEES Examinee Guide for information about cancellations, refunds, and rescheduling.

Professional exams

The following information applies to PE and SE examinees.

How do I register?

You must first apply to the Delaware engineering board for approval to sit for the exam. Visit the board’s website for the appropriate forms, fees, and deadlines.

After the Delaware board has notified you of your approval, register online with NCEES (deadline: February 19, 2015) to reserve your seat for the April 2015 exam. The Delaware board will provide your examinee ID in the approval letter—this will be used to register with NCEES.

You will not be required to pay exam fees when registering through the NCEES website. If you have questions about the exam approval process, please contact the Delaware engineering board.

Exam authorization

NCEES will email you 2–3 weeks before the exam with a link to download and print your exam authorization notice. Read it carefully. You will be required to present this document along with a valid, government-issued photo ID upon arrival at the exam site.

Results

When results have been released (typically 8–10 weeks after the exam) and validated, NCEES will send an email informing you that your result can be accessed through your MyNCEES account. The Delaware board will notify you of any state-specific exam results.

All results are reported as pass or fail. If you fail the examination, you will receive a diagnostic report showing your performance for each of the major topics covered on the exam.
