Illinois exam registration

Application deadline

All exam candidates must apply to Continental Testing Services Inc. by August 23 in order to be approved to take an exam in Illinois.

How do I register?

All exam candidates must register online with NCEES before September 5, 2013 to reserve a seat for the exam. You will not be required to pay exam fees when registering through the NCEES website.

The Illinois boards require candidates to complete additional steps to take the exam in Illinois. See the links below. Contact the appropriate Illinois board or its testing services provider with questions about this process.

Exam authorization

NCEES will email you 2–3 weeks before the exam with a link to download and print your exam authorization notice. Read it carefully. You will be required to present this document along with a valid, government-issued photo ID upon arrival at the exam site.

Results

NCEES releases results to CTS 8–10 weeks after the exam. CTS will then notify you of your exam result.
