Military Exceptions

Military exceptions are available to active-duty members of the U.S. Armed Forces and their spouses who are currently stationed outside of the United States, a U.S. territory, or Canada. This exception allows an examinee to test in the country in which they are currently located. Please note that Pearson VUE test center locations are very limited outside of the United States, U.S. territories, and Canada.

To request a military exception, please submit your active-duty paperwork to [email protected]. An NCEES representative will contact you to make the proper arrangements. You will not be required to request a military exception during the exam registration process.

While there is no stated deadline, examinees will not be authorized to schedule an exam appointment at a Pearson VUE test center until the process is completed. Examinees are encouraged to request an exception and register for their exam as early as possible.
