NCEES and UK Engineering Council begin work to develop mutual recognition agreement

Recent trade discussions between U.S. President Joe Biden and U.K. Prime Minister Rishi Sunak have resulted in the signing of the Atlantic Declaration for a Twenty-First Century U.S.-UK Economic Partnership, which includes efforts to improve mutual recognition in areas that include engineering.

As a result, the National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying and the Engineering Council in the United Kingdom are beginning work to develop a mutual recognition agreement that will provide a more direct path for licensed engineers to practice in each country. More information will be shared as it becomes available.
