What are your career goals?

I intend to work in the architecture, engineering, and construction industry (AEC). I aspire to be a licensed professional engineer in mechanical, electrical, or fire protection engineering. After some time in the industry, I would like to give back to aspiring engineers through teaching, mentorships, and outreach.

Do you have any areas of interest specific to your discipline?

Within architectural engineering, I am drawn to optimization of building systems. I am interested in the integration of sustainability design strategies within each engineering discipline.

What is one piece of advice you have for fellow engineering students?

Diversify your career experience and network, you never know who knows who and how they can help you in the future!

What has been your favorite engineering course and why?

My favorite course in undergrad has been my Fundamentals of Illumination & Power course. This course focuses on architectural lighting and highlights the electrical and ergonomic factors that play into lighting design.

Which clubs, campus organizations, and activities do you participate in?

The Architectural Institute, ASHRAE, Society of Women Engineers, National Society of Black Engineers

What are you most looking forward to gaining from being an FE ambassador?

I am excited to notify and engage with my campus about the FE exam and its post-grad benefits. I also am excited to increase the number of African-American and minority licensed engineers.
