What are your career goals?

My career goals are to increase my knowledge and expertise in technological and healthcare fields, specifically through my coursework and research opportunities. With this, I hope to obtain a license in Mechanical Engineering and a position that has the ability to assist people in need, such as people with physical disabilities.

Do you have any areas of interest specific to your discipline?

One research area of interest in Mechanical Engineering is soft electronics, which focuses on smart materials and their application in healthcare, such as activity tracking.

What is one piece of advice you have for fellow engineering students?

One piece of advice I have for fellow engineering students is to explore and seek out all the potential opportunities you are given. Students are surrounded by numerous resources, but the only catch is that you have to work for them and learn what works for you. It takes an incredible amount of trial and error, but it is worth it in the end.

What has been your favorite engineering course and why?

My favorite engineering course has been an Engineering Graphics and CAD course. The lab and project style of the course requires active attention and creativity. It brought out the problem-solving of engineering courses, and every assignment left me with satisfaction that I created something “successful.”

Which clubs, campus organizations, and activities do you participate in?

I am the President of Pi Tau Sigma Mechanical Engineering Honor Society, Alpha Xi Chapter. I also play recreational basketball and volleyball.

What are you most looking forward to gaining from being an FE ambassador?

I look forward to connecting with and educating students on the importance of engineering licensure and building a community.
