What are your career goals?

I hope to become a licensed civil engineer, specializing in structural engineering, where I can contribute to designing and building safe and efficient structures for society.

Do you have any areas of interest specific to your discipline?

I am very interested in structural design and land development.

What is one piece of advice you have for fellow engineering students?

Never be afraid to ask questions. Asking questions is one of the best ways to promote learning and growth, especially in fields as challenging as engineering. If you are unsure of a concept, ask now instead of later.

What has been your favorite engineering course and why?

My favorite engineering course I have taken is soil mechanics. This course exposed me to a new side of civil engineering and taught me that many details go into safely and effectively designing and building infrastructure.

Which clubs, campus organizations, and activities do you participate in?

I am a current member of the Gamma Phi Beta Sorority and American Society of Civil Engineers. I am also a student ambassador for the University of Georgia College of Engineering.

What are you most looking forward to gaining from being an FE ambassador?

I look forward to sharing the importance of licensure to fellow engineering students and aspiring engineering students. Engineering is a field that is needed in every part of the world. Being able to share the knowledge of engineering, what an engineering career looks like, and how becoming licensed can enhance careers will be beneficial to many students.
