What are your career goals?

In the future I hope to work on infrastructure around the world, improving the efficiency and recyclability of construction processes and materials, strengthening the stability of structures to hold through natural disasters, and enhancing the quality of living for people around the world.

Do you have any areas of interest specific to your discipline?

I am interested in the water, environmental, and structural side of Civil Engineering. I hope to do a lot of designing in the future and have projects of my own to stamp and approve of.

What is one piece of advice you have for fellow engineering students?

One thing I would advise other fellow engineering students is to not be afraid to admit when you are wrong and do not understand something. You should always continue asking questions and looking for help from others. Everyone is here for the same goals and no one can do this job alone.

What has been your favorite engineering course and why?

My favorite engineering course was AutoCad because it taught me how to use a program that is widely used in the Civil Engineering field, and is the first class I have taken that I was able to create and design something of my own.

Which clubs, campus organizations, and activities do you participate in?

I am a part of PEER&WISE at Clemson University, where I am currently a mentor for freshman women in science and engineering, as well as a part of Society of Women Engineers, National Society of Black Engineers, and a mentor in the Civil Engineering department also at Clemson.

What are you most looking forward to gaining from being an FE ambassador?

I am most looking forward to gaining leadership experience and getting the opportunity to meet other bright students majoring in engineering.

What would you say to someone who is thinking of applying to be an FE ambassador in the future?

If you are thinking of applying to be an FE Ambassador in the future, make sure you are interested in growing as a young leader, be prepared to lead by example, make sure you are passionate about the engineering field you want to go into, and embrace your creative side.
