Zoutewelle begins term as NCEES president

Andrew Zoutewelle, P.L.S., began his term as 2024–25 NCEES president at the conclusion of the organization’s annual meeting, held August 14–17 in Chicago, Illinois.

A resident of Charlotte, North Carolina, Zoutewelle is an emeritus member of the North Carolina Board of Examiners for Engineers and Surveyors. He replaces outgoing president Laura Sievers, P.E., of Iowa, who will remain on the NCEES board of directors as immediate past president.

At the annual meeting, Council delegates elected Elizabeth Beckett Johnston, P.E., of Alaska, as president-elect for the 2024–25 term. Beckett Johnston will serve as NCEES president in 2025–26.

NCEES welcomed Aaron Blaisdell, P.L.S., of Washington, and Jason Suelter, P.E., S.E., of Nebraska, to its board of directors as well. Blaisdell will serve a two-year term as vice president of the Western Zone, and Suelter will serve a two-year term as vice president of the Central Zone.

Rounding out the board of directors are three members serving second years of their terms. Karl Tonander, P.E., of New Mexico, returns as treasurer. James Kelly, P.E., of Virginia, returns as Southern Zone vice president, and Samuel Wilson, DBA, P.E., of the District of Columbia, returns as Northeast Zone vice president.
