NCEES Foundation opens 2027 funding cycle

The NCEES Foundation is pleased to announce the opening of its 2027 funding cycle. Organizations with projects that advance engineering and surveying licensure and help strengthen the future of the professions are encouraged to apply.

Beginning October 1, 2026, applicants may submit a letter of inquiry outlining their proposed project and its potential impact. Letters of inquiry will be accepted through February 1, 2027.

The NCEES Foundation invests in programs that align with the NCEES mission and vision and expand efforts to advance professional licensure.

“Through the NCEES Foundation, we have an opportunity to invest in organizations and programs that are building a stronger future for engineering and surveying,” said Dale Jans, P.E., chair of the NCEES Foundation. “We’re looking for ideas that can advance licensure, inspire future professionals, and help engineering and surveying students succeed. If your organization is doing work that aligns with those goals, we encourage you to apply.”

What types of projects are the Foundation looking for?
The Foundation is particularly interested in projects that strengthen the pathway to professional licensure and support the future of engineering and surveying. This includes initiatives that

  • Promote the value of engineering and surveying licensure and increase understanding of licensure’s importance to the professions and public protection.
  • Build the pipeline of future engineers and surveyors by engaging K–12 students and introducing them to educational and career opportunities in engineering and surveying.
  • Support current engineering and surveying students with programs that help them remain enrolled, succeed academically, and continue toward careers in the professions.

Organizations are encouraged to consider how their work can make a meaningful and lasting difference in attracting, developing, and supporting future engineers and surveyors while advancing the value of professional licensure.
